ISF Jump Rope Commission Applications Open

About the Commission:

The International Jump Rope Union (IJRU) has signed a letter of intent (LOI) with the international school sports federation.  The LOI established the willingness of both parties to collaborate on initiatives promoting sport development, health, and physical education though jump rope activities and school sport events.  The goals and objectives are as follow.

  • Event Organization:  Develop joint events, including international school jump rope competitions and demonstrations within ISF events, to promote the sport within schools worldwide.

  • Educational Programs:  Create and implement educational program focused on jump rope skills to improve physical fitness and the mental and social benefits of sports participation.

  • Youth Development: Foster youth development through jump rope events, workshops and activities to improve the involvement of young athletes.

  • Resource Sharing: Share resources, expertise and best practice to enhance event management, coaching, and officiating standards across both ISF and IJRU.

With these objectives in mind and an eye towards the binding MOU with ISF, IJRU will establish an ISF Commission.  This commission will need to develop multiple aspects and will operate in the forthcoming charter.  This commission with undertake the above objectives to be demonstrated in the following immediate initiatives under the supervision of the IJRU Board of directors and IJRU statutes. 

  • 2025 ISF Demonstration Sport: IJRU will attend the upcoming 2025 Gymniasade in Serbia.  This demonstration will showcase competition elements as well as crowd engagement.   We will leverage regional and global jump rope athletes and experts to fulfill this endeavor.

  • 2026 ISF Jump Rope Competition: This event will take place in 2026 in a city/ country TBD.  This event will encompass a school-based jump rope competition that will harness the local, regional and global school resources.  The event will also hold a workshop that will teach teachers, judges and enthusiast on jump rope education and fitness.  

 

Commission Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be from an IJRU NGB member in good standing.

  • Be at least 21 years of age  

  • Read, write, and be able to communicate in English 

  • Have professional experience in physical education, education, or legal / law.  Additional experience sought for this commission include event management, jump competition administration
