Athlete Feature: Tango and Chloe

Despite its small size on the world map, Hong Kong, China, has carved out a significant reputation in jump rope, celebrated for its creativity, popularity , agility, and unwavering commitment to excellence.

Chole and Tango have been integral members of the Hong Kong jump rope community for over 10 and 18 years, respectively. They began their journey at a young age, quickly becoming passionate about the sport. Their dedication has taken them to compete in both Asian and World Championships, where they have forged friendships with fellow athletes from around the globe.

While they continue to compete and coach in traditional jump rope events, in recent years, they have discovered a “new love” for Double Dutch Fusion. They now lead a professional crew dedicated to honing their skills, raising awareness, and showcasing their talents at numerous events.

One of their most memorable moments came at the Paris Olympics in 2024, where they participated in demonstration competitions and performances at Urban Sports Park in La Concorde, as well as at Paris City Hall (Startline for marathon), Champion Park and major shopping mall.

This unforgettable experience not only allowed them to display their talents on an international stage but also strengthened their resolve to advocate for jump rope’s official recognition in the Olympics. Chole and Tango believe that jump rope deserves a place among other recognized sports, and they are passionate about inspiring the next generation of athletes. They envision a future where jump rope is celebrated globally, and they are committed to working towards that goal, hoping to see their beloved sport gain the recognition it truly deserves.
