IJRU SPEED AND POWER WORLD RECORDS: EXPLAINED

In speed events, judges count each right foot jump that an athlete completes within the time frame of the event. Since only one foot is counted, the final score of a speed event multiplied by 2 is the actual number of jumps taken by the athlete(s) within the time frame (i.e: a final score of 113 in Single Rope Speed Sprint (1x30) would equal 226 total jumps in 30 seconds). In double under and triple under events, the judges count each jump an athlete completes.

As of July 2023, half jumps (scores ending in .5) will no longer be accepted in any future speed events, as stated in the World Record Recognition Policy. Previously, if judges did not have the same count of completed jumps at the end of speed and power events, the two closest scores were averaged, thus producing a score with a half jump at times. IJRU makes all efforts to verify world record scores by video replay until a valid score is recorded.

*Current world records listed with half jumps were achieved prior to the policy update and will continue to stand until they are broken.
