Judges Ready! View the Updated Courses on the IJRU Judging Portal

Calling all IJRU judges! We’ve officially launched the updated 2021 certification and recertification courses on the IJRU Judging Portal. If you plan to judge at the 2021 IJRU Virtual World Championship Series, you will need to be a level 3 certified judge and take our updated certification or recertification courses as well as any continuing education courses that are released in 2021.

How to become a level 3 certified judge?

To become a level 3 certified judge, you need to:

  • Complete the online certification or recertification courses

  • Attend an in-person or live online judges training

  • Complete mini continuing education courses as they become available

If you’ve previously attended a live training, you only need to complete the online re-certification courses to maintain your level 2 certification.

To judge at the World Championships Series, you’ll need to complete a course related to judging a virtual tournament, once it becomes available.

Can I be an athlete and a judge?

We encourage senior athletes to complete the IJRU judging certification courses. This will help you get a better understanding of the IJRU rules. If you’re interested, athletes ages 15 and older are eligible to judge at the World Championship Series. Because this isn’t an in-person event, senior athletes could judge the Junior World Championships and still compete in the World Championships or International Open Tournament. Athletes will be eligible to judge any event, as long as they are not competing in that event.
