Jump Rope under the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA)

The International Jump Rope Union (IJRU) is pleased to announce that the Asian Jump Rope Union (AJRU) has been recognized as a provisional member of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA). The decision was approved at the OCA General Assembly on July 8, 2023. Gaining recognition in Asia is another major achievement as we continue to establish our sport globally.

Statement from IJRU President, Shaun Hamilton

“IJRU is excited and proud of AJRU.  As our Asia continental organization, this provisional membership will aid the Asian NGB members in their development. We thank the Olympic Council of Asia for this recognition.”

Statement from AJRU President, Michael Chan

“With the efforts of the entire Jump Rope community and through long-term communication with the OCA, AJRU has finally obtained provisional membership from the Olympic Council of Asia. This is a milestone for AJRU and for the Asian Jump Rope sport. However, this is just the beginning. We are determined to move forward, obtain full membership, and work towards making jump rope competitions a reality in the Asian Games.

Many thanks to all AJRU Board members. It is through your efforts and contributions that we have achieved this first step. We would also like to express our gratitude to IJRU for their timely support. Let's continue to progress and elevate the status of Jump Rope.”
