IJRU Governance Review Committee Recruitment

Governance Review Committee: Shaping the Future of the International Jump Rope Union (IJRU)

Applications Due: 31 August 2026

IJRU has reached an important milestone. With the passage of a resolution, the Board of Directors has launched the first comprehensive governance review since IJRU’s founding. This forward-looking initiative is designed to ensure our Constitution continues to serve a modern, global, and evolving sport.

At the heart of this effort is the newly established Governance Review Committee, an independent, expert-led body tasked with taking an objective look at how IJRU is governed and how it can be strengthened for the future.

Why This Matters

Strong governance is the backbone of a successful international federation. As IJRU grows in scale, diversity, and impact, our Constitution must remain clear, consistent, and aligned with global best practices. This review is an opportunity to:

  • Clarify and eliminate ambiguities

  • Strengthen transparency and accountability

  • Improve operational efficiency

  • Ensure our governance reflects the needs of members and athletes worldwide

This effort is a strategic investment in trust, credibility, and long-term success.

What the Committee Will Do

The Governance Review Committee will conduct a comprehensive and consultative review of the Constitution and related governance frameworks. Its work will include:

  • Benchmarking against international sports governance standards

  • Identifying gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement

  • Engaging directly with stakeholders, including Recognized Members, Continental Organizations, the Athletes’ Council, and key committees

  • Developing clear, actionable recommendations to advance IJRU

The Committee will also explore the creation of a standing governance committee to ensure continuous improvement beyond this review.

Importantly, the Committee serves in an advisory role, ensuring independence and objectivity, while final decisions remain with the Board and the General Congress.

Who We’re Looking For

IJRU seeks nominations and expressions of interest from individuals who are ready to help shape the future of IJRU. Up to seven members will be appointed, with an emphasis on:

  • Governance and board-level experience

  • Legal and compliance expertise

  • Athlete perspective

  • Global representation

  • Independence and integrity

The Committee will be chaired by an independent leader with recognized governance or legal expertise.

Timeline and Impact

The Committee will begin work immediately, delivering:

  • Initial findings November by 2026

  • Draft recommendations by December 2026

  • Final report and amendment proposals by March 2027

This timeline ensures meaningful consultation while maintaining momentum toward real, impactful reform.

Your Opportunity to Lead

This is a rare opportunity to contribute to a defining moment in IJRU’s evolution. By serving on the Governance Review Committee, you will help build a stronger, more transparent, and future-ready organization that reflects the highest standards of international sport.

If you bring expertise, independence, and a commitment to good governance, we encourage you to step forward.
