During the recent ERSO European Championships, some members of the 2027 Championship Organising Committee (COC) had the privilege of visiting Oslofjord Convention Center, the future home of the 2027 IJRU World Championships.

The visit provided a unique opportunity to experience the venue during a live international jump rope event and gain valuable insight into how athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, and spectators will experience the World Championships in June 2027.

Over several productive days, the committee worked closely with the outstanding Oslofjord team to begin shaping the championship experience. Discussions focused on venue operations, competition management, athlete services, security, transportation, spectator engagement, plus more but most importantly how to create an unforgettable opportunitie for the global jump rope community.

One of the most exciting aspects of the visit was experiencing the atmosphere of Oslofjord's all-inclusive village environment. With athletes, officials, and supporters staying together on-site, there was a unique sense of community, connection, and safety. Seeing national flags displayed from balconies and watching athletes come together throughout the venue offered a glimpse into what the World Championships could feel like when the world's jump rope family gathers in one place.

The energy was undeniable.

For many committee members, the visit transformed the project from a vision into a reality. Walking the competition spaces, meeting with venue staff, and seeing athletes in action reinforced the incredible potential of Oslofjord as a host venue for the world's premier jump rope event.

While there is still significant work ahead, the committee left Norway inspired, motivated, and more committed than ever to delivering an exceptional championship experience for everyone involved.

Over the coming months, we will introduce more members of the Championship Organising Committee and provide regular updates as planning continues.

June 2027 may feel a long way away, but preparations are already well underway. The countdown has begun, and we cannot wait to welcome the world to Oslofjord for what promises to be a truly unforgettable World Championships.
