Tshilwane Sonopo (Sony Da Jumper) is one of the most decorated jumpers in Africa, winning National and International Championships medals.
Sony Da Jumper has become one of the Top Jumpers in Africa. After dominating the junior level, he won his first National Competition with 2 Gold medals and a Silver medal in Pretoria October 2012. In 2013, he claimed a record, winning level 5 title with a Gold medal at the National Championships held in Durban. He went on being selected as part of the team that was chosen to represent South Africa at FISAC 2016 Rope Skipping World Championships Open Tournament in Malmo Sweden where He won his first International Bronze medal in the category of triple under. He recently won 3 silver medals at the first International Jump Rope Union With 5 National Championships Medals and 9 World Championships medals, he is the most decorated South African Jumper.
Sonopo persisted to build on his successful rope career from 2009 till this far also playing a huge role in development if the sport in South Africa as Rope Skipping Participation Manager, Athlete Representative, and owning a rope skipping club with more than 30 jumpers.
Sonopo's goal is to inspire, motivate, and train Jump Rope to become worthy of competing and winning championships at national and international platforms. “My deepest desire and interest is to train children and youngsters in becoming world-class rope skippers, excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
